On Wednesday, February 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Steve “Scof” Schofield, Co-Founder/Managing Director of Modop Films, will conduct a book signing of “Scof on Scof: A Colorful Arrangement of True Crime Stories,” at The Mob Museum in Las Vegas. The date marks the 89th anniversary of the infamous St. Valentine’s Day Massacre and the sixth anniversary of the Museum, which will debut brand-new exhibits that day and offer free admission for Nevada residents and buy-one, get-one admission for non-residents. For those unable to travel to the event, “Scof on Scof” – the podcast presented by Schofield’s Flowers and hosted by Schofield – will broadcast via Facebook Live 8:15 a.m. on Feb. 1 in collaboration with the Museum.

Former Tribune reporter to host book signing today at The Tribune

Mike Peters was riding along with Greeley police on a major drug bust the night a convenience store clerk went missing in 1977. Three beeps announcing the missing clerk set him down the path to his first true crime novel, “The Cornfield.”

A former Greeley Tribune reporter, Peters will host a book signing 3 p.m. today at The Tribune, 501 8th Ave. He also will sign copies 5 p.m. Thursday at the Greeley Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours event at The Tribune. The signings will include copies of his book “Greeley 1917,” which compiles his popular 100 Years Ago columns published in The Tribune this year.

The clerk, Mary Pierce, was found dead two days later in a cornfield west of what is now 83rd Avenue and 10th Street in Greeley. Peters covered Pierce’s disappearance for The Tribune from beginning to end,

Crime author at Brooks book signing

A CRIME author who recently signed a four-book publishing deal will be signing copies of his debut novel in Winchester.

Antony M. Brown will be at Waterstone’s in the Brooks Shopping Centre to talk about The Green Bicycle Mystery, the first book in his series, Cold Case Jury.

Antony, from Chandler’s Ford, is an award-winning essayist, former magazine editor-in-chief and member of the Crime Writers’ Association. He published several e-books online before signing with Mirror Books in January.

Antony said: “Each book is a true crime mystery in which readers are invited to deliver their verdict online, helping to bring some closure to the cold case. My goal is to combine history with a real-life whodunnit.”

The Green Bicycle Mystery is about the unsolved shooting of Bella Wright in July 1919.

Wisconsin investigator to hold book signing in Pewaukee, appear on true crime show

An investigator will be making an appearance in the village of Pewaukee for a book signing ahead of him being featured on a true crime TV show this Saturday.

Steve Spingola, an author and retired Milwaukee Police Department homicide lieutenant, will appear at Rosati’s Pizza, 690 Westfield Way, from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 22 to sign his new book “Staggered Paths: Strange Deaths in the Badger State. The book, which is one of Amazon’s Hot New Releases, examines the deaths of 31 Wisconsin college-age men, which some attribute to the so-called “Smiley Face Killer”.

Rosati’s is also offering a “sleuth with the proof” lunch special, which includes a pizza slice and a drink for $4.76. Copies of Spingola’s book are
