Trayvon Martin’s Mother Processes Grief With Other Moms of Children Killed by Gun Violence

Sybrina Fulton’s life as she knew it ended on February 26, 2012. That’s when her 17-year-old son, Trayvon Martin, who was unarmed, was fatally shot in Sanford, Florida, by a neighborhood-watch volunteer for his gated community.

“I have to endure this every single day,” Fulton tells PEOPLE in a recent interview. “It’s not like an illness, that’s here and goes away and comes back again. It’s constant.”

After her unimaginable loss, Fulton discovered some relief when she reached out to other moms who have lost children to gun violence. Now, she plans annual peace walks in her home state of Florida, works with legislators on gun violence laws and travels around the country speaking at colleges and churches about preventing senseless shootings.

“I didn’t grieve by sitting in the corner and doing nothing,” says Fulton, a Miami resident. “I was able to grieve by working with others, and that is how I believe I was able

Netflix’s new documentary series perfectly takes the piss out of all other Netflix documentary series

By Rory Cashin

Having built it up, they are now helping tear it down.

Netflix really helped in putting the serialised true-crime documentary on the map thanks to the likes of Making A Murderer and The Keepers.

But with every last person you know having some variation on the sentence of “Oh, if you thought Making A Murderer was good, then you will absolutely lose your mind over (BLANK)”, and the hunger for true-crime reality docs reaching fever pitch, Netflix are taking the piss of themselves and of the genre with American Vandal.

Coming from the guys who make those amazing Honest Trailers, here is the synopsis:

American Vandal is a half-hour true-crime satire that explores the aftermath of a costly high school prank that left twenty-seven faculty cars vandalized with phallic images.

Over the course of the eight-episode season, an aspiring

Netflix’s ‘Casting JonBenet’ Is Unlike Any Other True Crime Documentary

With Casting JonBenet, director Kitty Green, whose credits include the similar, meta-documentary The Face of Ukraine: Casting Oksana Baiul, is interested in the way the murder is remembered by locals in Boulder, Colorado, where the shocking incident occurred. Any details of who, what, when, where, and why are spouted by individuals who aren’t completely certain of the facts. Green also leads these people to believe that they are auditioning for parts in a movie that would dramatize the murder. But there is no other such movie. The making of the “movie” is also the finished product.
