Trayvon Martin’s Mother Processes Grief With Other Moms of Children Killed by Gun Violence

Sybrina Fulton’s life as she knew it ended on February 26, 2012. That’s when her 17-year-old son, Trayvon Martin, who was unarmed, was fatally shot in Sanford, Florida, by a neighborhood-watch volunteer for his gated community.

“I have to endure this every single day,” Fulton tells PEOPLE in a recent interview. “It’s not like an illness, that’s here and goes away and comes back again. It’s constant.”

After her unimaginable loss, Fulton discovered some relief when she reached out to other moms who have lost children to gun violence. Now, she plans annual peace walks in her home state of Florida, works with legislators on gun violence laws and travels around the country speaking at colleges and churches about preventing senseless shootings.

“I didn’t grieve by sitting in the corner and doing nothing,” says Fulton, a Miami resident. “I was able to grieve by working with others, and that is how I believe I was able

The October issue of Ocean Drive Magazine is usually Lynn’s favorite issue of the year because they always show hot guys with big biceps. Deco caught up with this year’s cover boy, who is none other than the man who got us all to shake our bon-bons — Ricky Martin.

And let’s just say gracing the cover of Ocean Drive Magazine is not exactly new for him.

Ricky Martin: “It’s not my first time though, and I’m really happy that they called me again.”

Ricky’s favorite look is the cover, but how does his sound to get us livin’ la vida loca?

Ricky Martin on Meeting Antonio D’Amico, Gianni Versace’s Lover

Antonio D’Amico, the former lover of the late Italian designer Gianni Versace, confessed in July that he wasn’t content with the behind-the-scenes photos he’d seen of the upcoming series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story (FX)—set to premiere in 2018— telling The Guardian: “The photo of Ricky Martin holding the body [of Versace] in his arms is ridiculous.” Now, in an interview with Ocean DriveMartin reveals that he spoke with D’Amico in an attempt to quell his concerns.

“I had the opportunity to speak to Antonio a few months ago,” Martin told the magazine. “I said, ‘Antonio, listen, maybe you’ve seen a couple of paparazzi shots of the actual scenes that we’re shooting, but please don’t judge the quality of it just by one picture because it could easily be taken out of context. You have to see for yourself what we’re

YA author Martin Wilson takes a page from true crime genre for second novel

From FX’s American Crime Story anthology and Netflix’s The Keepers to the 2016 Best Picture Oscar winner Spotlight, the resurgence of TV specials surrounding the murders of people including JonBenet Ramsey and Natalee Holloway, and numerous podcasts, true crime stories are at an all-time pop culture high.

Enter Martin Wilson and his sophomore novel We Now Return to Regular Life. The publicist for publisher Ecco, a HarperCollins’ subsidiary, found partial inspiration for his fictional YA drama in a real-life abduction. Here, 14-year-old Sam has just returned home after being abducted three years prior. Told from the perspectives of Sam’s older sister, Beth, and his friend, Josh — the last two people to see him before he vanished — the story traces the ordeal’s impact on his family, community, and Sam himself.

EW talked to Wilson about the controversial dilemmas raised in the book, his real-life inspiration, and depicting a part of the South

Police confirm Martin MacNeill’s prison death as suicide

Investigators with the Unified Police Department have confirmed that Martin MacNeill, convicted of murdering his wife, committed suicide while in prison.

MacNeill, 61, was found unresponsive by a corrections officer at 11:23 a.m. April 9 on the Utah State Prison complex in Draper. He was pronounced dead at about 11:50 a.m.

New reports from the Unified Police Department confirm that MacNeill took his own life. The Pleasant Grove doctor was found with a plastic bag and had attached a hose to a natural gas line meant to heat the greenhouse near where he was found.

There was no indication of a struggle and was in a part of the greenhouse where he could not be seen, the report states.

MacNeill’s defense attorney, Randall Spencer, previously said the suicide was no shock to him, considering MacNeill’s past.

“I’m saddened, but not surprised. He was not happy in prison,” Spencer said in April. “He considered it in
