The date marks the 89th anniversary of the infamous St. Valentine’s Day Massacre and the sixth anniversary of the Museum, which will debut brand-new exhibits that day and offer free admission for Nevada residents and buy-one, get-one admission for non-residents. ‘True Crime Files’ Joins Syndication In Fall | TVNewsCheck.com

The Investigation Discovery (ID) cable network is for the first time bringing some of its highest-rated programming to broadcast syndication.

The nationally syndicated hour-long True Crime Files will premiere in fall 2018 airing on the Tribune Broadcasting stations and the Sinclair Broadcast Group stations along with other stations and has already been sold in 60% of the U.S.

True Crime Files in syndication will initially comprise 260 broadcast premiere hours selected from ID’s extensive library. ID, which features mystery and suspense programming, says it will “release content from television’s hottest genre enabling stations to create a new successful proven franchise for years to come.”

“True crime programming has never been more popular in the U.S., and as the top destination for the genre, we’re excited to expand Investigation Discovery’s deep library of compelling real-life stories to an even wider audience,” said Henry S. Schleiff, group president, Investigation Discovery, Destination America and American Heroes Channel.

Matthew Broderick Joins Fox’s ‘A Christmas Story’ Live Musical

Matthew Broderick is coming to Fox for the holidays.

The two-time Tony winner has been tapped to serve as the narrator in Fox’s A Christmas Story live musical.

Broderick steps up to the microphone previously held by Jean Shepherd, the narrator and adult Ralphie Parker in the 1983 classic. For those who never saw the original — which marathons every Christmas on TBS and TNT — the narrator looks back on his favorite childhood holiday and his quest for a Red Ryder BB gun.

Broderick joins castmember Maya Rudolph (Saturday Night Live) in the three-hour live musical production. Rudolph is playing Ralphie’s mother, Mrs. Parker, taking on the role played by Melinda Dillion in the original. Additional casting will be announced soon.

Based on the short stories of Midwestern humorist Shepherd, the musical is set in the 1940s, when all 9-year-old Ralphie wants for Christmas is a Red Ryder BB gun.

Lena Dunham Joins Election-Themed 7th Season of ‘American Horror Story’

Lena Dunham will join the cast during the upcoming seventh season of Ryan Murphy’s smash hit FX anthology series American Horror Story.

Murphy broke the news in a post to his Twitter account Wednesday.

“Thrilled that my talented friend Lena Dunham is joining the AMERICAN HORROR STORY family. Always wanted to work together, and now we r!” he wrote.

It wasn’t immediately clear what Dunham’s role in the new series would be. But Murphy previously confirmed that the seventh season of AHS would revolve around events related to the 2016 presidential election.

Murphy was expected to announce the title of the new series on Thursday.
