What should have been a joyous celebration for Clay and Kelli Wilson turned tragic as they were among the thousands of people fired upon from above during a mass shooting at a concert on Sunday night in Las Vegas.

Speaking to PEOPLE less than 24 hours after he and his wife witnessed the onslaught, Clay breaks down in tears as he describes the couple’s survival in the storm of gunfire, which authorities said killed at least 59 people and injured more than 500 others.

“We all were terrified,” he says. “You’re in panic mode, survival mode. Looking back on it today — we really can see the reality is setting in. I’m very emotional: angry one second, sad the [next].”

Witness Describes Panic During Las Vegas Shooting: ‘It Was Endless; It Was Like Being Tormented’

Bryan Claypool knew something was amiss when he looked to the night sky above the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas Sunday evening and saw no exploding bursts of color.

“There were these little pops right behind me, so we thought it was fireworks,” Claypool tells PEOPLE. “I looked up in the air and I didn’t see anything and thought, ‘This is not good.’”

It wasn’t until he saw country star Jason Aldean leave his microphone, drop his guitar, and sprint from the festival’s stage that Claypool realized a gunman was spraying the crowd and his life was on the line.

“I was trying to run out of the VIP section and I just laid flat on the aluminum part of the stairwell and I was pulling people down,” Claypool explains. “A lot of people were frozen in time…like, it wasn’t registering

Woman Who Claimed She Lost Baby During Gender-Reveal Party Mass Shooting Was Not Pregnant: Police

The expectant mother who told local media she had lost her baby when her gender reveal party turned into a deadly mass shooting was never pregnant, police announced.

Cheyanne Willis, 21, was one of the nine people shot at her party on July 8 when two people opened fire on the group as they watched a movie. One attendee, Autumn Garrett, 21, died, while Willis was shot in the leg.

When she was released from the hospital, Willis told local media she had lost her baby.

Now, Colerain Township police say Willis was never pregnant, despite her family’s claims.

Police spokesman James Love tells PEOPLE authorities are frustrated by the apparent lie but continue to try to solve the shooting.

“As ridiculous as it might be, it’s not a crime to lie, its not a crime to have a party over that lie,” says

Darren Criss Made Out with His American Crime Story Producer During Hedwig

Now that’s how you get the part! Everybody is talking about Darren Criss, Edgar Ramirez, Ricky Martin and Penelope Cruz’s splashy new Entertainment Weekly cover for American Crime Story, but our attention is on a hilarious anecdote about Criss and executive producer Brad Simpson’s, erm, close encounter during his stint in Broadway’s Hedwig and the Angry Inchon Broadway.

“Once every night he jumps into somebody’s lap and makes out with them,” said Simpson. “In the middle of the show, he jumps in the audience and rips my glasses off and makes out with me. It was very charming and a very Cunanan thing to do, to be a little devilish.”

Criss jokes: “I casting-couched the s— outta that!”

A spontaneous lip-lock resulting in us getting to watch Criss star in an ultra-addicting Ryan Murphy series? This is a win all around.

Robert Durst Claims He Was Using Meth During The Filming Of His Interviews On ‘The Jinx’

HBO

The saga of Robert Durst gained notoriety thanks to his odd presence and history as presented in The Jinx on HBO. The true crime documentary series came at the perfect time for more reasons than one, not only trailing the success of Netflix’s Making A Murderer but also leading to the arrest of Durst on the day the finale aired . It was that episode where Durst was confronted with new evidence, leading to his odd bathroom “confession” that was caught on a hot microphone.

Durst was arrested on March 15th 2015 in a New Orleans hotel room, carrying “a false Texas ID, stacks of $100 bills, bags of marijuana, a .38-caliber revolver, a map folded to show Louisiana and Cuba and a flesh-toned latex mask with salt-and-pepper hair” and admittedly
