Teacher, 32, Arrested on Sex Charges After Student Allegedly Brags About Sleeping with Her

Police in Beaumont, California, reportedly continue to investigate a high school teacher who was arrested last month after allegedly having sex with an underage student.

Samantha Lee Ciotta, 32, was taken into custody on Sept. 20, PEOPLE confirms.

The Beaumont High School teacher was charged with unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and oral copulation with a person under the age of 18 in connection with an alleged relationship with a student, Beaumont police said at the time.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Ciotta was also the head cheerleading coach at Beaumont High.

Police said in September that they “believe that there may be other victims,” and they urged anyone with information to come forward. (They declined to comment further to PEOPLE.)

Man Claims Innocence After He Allegedly Abducted Former Stepdaughter at Age 12 and Fathered Her 9 Kids

A man who allegedly abducted his former stepdaughter when she was 12 years old and then held her and their children in captivity for nearly 20 years says the abuse accusations against him are untrue.

“Most of it are lies,” Henri Piette, 62, told local TV station FOX23 last week after he returned to Wagoner County, Oklahoma, to faces charges of child and sexual abuse.

He has been charged with two counts of lewd molestation and one count each of first-degree rape and child abuse by injury, a Wagoner County court official tells PEOPLE.

“Ninety-nine percent [of the accusations] are lies,” he said. “I’m telling the truth.”

Ga. Mom Allegedly Killed 2 Kids by Putting Them in Oven Before Video-Calling Their Dad to Show Scene

A Georgia mom who allegedly murdered her young sons — and then showed the children’s father the scene on a video call — killed the boys “by placing them in an oven and turning it on,” according to an arrest warrant obtained by multiple outlets.

Police have charged Lamora Williams with two counts of murder in the deaths of her 1- and 2-year-old sons after Atlanta police officials discovered the children with burn marks, officials have said.

Ga. Mom Allegedly Murders Young Sons and Then Video-Calls Their Father to Show Him the Scene

An Atlanta mom is accused of murdering two of her young sons and then placing a video call to the children’s father to show him the scene, according to multiple local news reports.

Lamora Williams, 24, is charged with two counts of murder, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

Authorities have not released her children’s cause of death, but Atlanta police said that according to a preliminary investigation, the unnamed boys — ages 1 and 2 – “received burn marks on their bodies at some point, possibly from the stove.”

Williams allegedly told police she had left the children in the care of a relative about noon on Friday and found them dead about 11:30 that night, when she returned home.

However, “at this time investigators do not believe the children’s mother left them with a caregiver,” according to the police statement.

Vermont Man Allegedly Used Meat Cleaver to Murder Wife and Injure Mother-in-Law

A Vermont man was arrested for allegedly murdering his wife and severely wounding his mother-in-law when he attacked them with a meat cleaver Thursday afternoon, PEOPLE confirms.

Aita Gurung, 34, was arrested on Thursday and was held at the Chittendon Regional Correctional Facility in South Burlington Thursday night on suspicion of second-degree murder and attempted murder, according to jail records.

The Nepal native had allegedly been released from a hospital earlier on Thursday after a voluntary mental health evaluation, Burlington police say in a statement.

At about 2:30 p.m., after returning home from the hospital, Gurung allegedly killed his wife, Yogeswari Khadka, 32, with a meat cleaver, striking her skull, arms and hands, the statement says.

Gurung also allegedly attacked her mother, Thulsa Rimal, 54. Rimal was taken to the University of Vermont Medical Center, where she was in critical but stable condition Thursday night, according to local news station WCAX.

Texas Toddler Missing After Father Allegedly Made Her Stand Outside for Not Drinking Her Milk

 

A 3-year-old Texas girl is missing after her father allegedly left her outside at 3 a.m. on Saturday to punish her for not drinking her milk, reports say.

Sherin Mathews has been missing since Saturday and her father, 37-year-old Wesley Mathews, has been arrested in connection with her disappearance, a Richardson Police Department spokesperson confirms to PEOPLE.

Mathews allegedly told police that he ordered Sherin outside in the early morning hours, telling her to stand next to a tree across an alley from their Richardson home, the Associated Press reports, citing an arrest affidavit. When he allegedly went to check on the toddler about 15 minutes later, Sherin was gone, according to the AP.

An Iowa woman was arrested Thursday after she went on a planned days-long vacation to Germany and allegedly left her four young children home alone, PEOPLE confirms.

Court officials confirm Sarai Rodriguez-Miranda is accused of texting her boyfriend back in January about her plans, allegedly saying she wouldn’t feel remorse if her 11-week-old niece died.

PEOPLE spoke with court officials who allege Rodriguez-Miranda was upset that her brother, his fiancée, and their baby were living with her in her mother’s home, and sent texts to her boyfriend from a phone that she shares with her mother.

“I’m gonna crush up some of these pills since she decided they can stay longer and kill their baby,” Rodriguez-Miranda allegedly wrote on Jan. 12.
