‘Pose’: Watch the Trailer for Ryan Murphy’s History-Making FX Drama

FX on Thursday unveiled the first full-length trailer and premiere date for Ryan Murphy’s history-making drama Pose.

Pose looks at the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in 1980s New York: the rise of the luxury Trump-era universe, the downtown social and literary scene and the ball culture world. The series will premiere Sunday, June 3 at 9 p.m.

Toplined by frequent Murphy collaborator Evan Peters, Kate Mara and James Van Der Beek, Pose features the biggest cast of transgender actors in series-regular roles as well as the largest recurring LGBTQ cast ever for a scripted U.S. TV series. The five trans actors are MJ Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Hailie Sahar and Angelica Ross, with each one playing authentic transgender characters.

“The show is about the search for being authentic, about creating opportunities,” Murphy told reporters in January. “We’re past an era of straight men playing these roles. It’s time to think differently and offer

As You Might Have Guessed, Ryan Murphy’s Monica Lewinsky Crime Story Season Definitely Isn’t Happening

Ryan Murphy has lots of plans.

Back when we were young and unafraid of Netflix suddenly offering $300 million to showrunners to jump ship, Ryan Murphy said he was interested in tackling the Bill Clinton–Monica Lewinsky scandal in a future season of FX’s American Crime Story. Now, as Murphy adjusts to his new life at Netflix (while continuing to make his shows for Fox), he tells The Hollywood Reporter

Ryan Murphy on ‘American Crime Story’ Future and Scrapping …

The producers of FX’s Emmy-drenched anthology series American Crime Story have hit the brakes on a season centered on the White House saga of Monica Lewinsky.

Though Jeffrey Toobin’s 2000 best-seller, A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Sex Scandal that Nearly Brought Down a President, was optioned as source material more than a year ago, Murphy says they had second thoughts. And he’s already relayed as much to a relieved Lewinsky, whom he ran into at a Hollywood party.

“I told her, ‘Nobody should tell your story but you, and it’s kind of gross if they do,'” Murphy recalls saying. ” ‘If you want to produce it with me, I would love that; but you should be the producer and you should make all the goddamn money.'”

Meantime, the Crime Story team, which includes Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson, have been toying with other timely topics in addition to an already in-process installment

Ryan Murphy, FX win ‘Feud’ lawsuit over Olivia de Havilland

A California appeals court ruled Monday that Olivia de Havilland’s lawsuit against Ryan Murphy and FX should be dismissed, citing First Amendment protection.

De Havilland, 101, sued in June, claiming that “Feud: Bette and Joan” used her name and likeness without her permission and portrayed her as a character “selling gossip in order to promote herself at the Academy Awards, criticizing fellow actors, using vulgarity and cheap language.”

She specifically took offense at Catherine Zeta-Jones, who played the actress in the Ryan Murphy anthology series, calling Joan Fontaine her “b—h sister.”

The 2nd Appellate District, however, ruled that “Feud” is considered protected speech under the Constitution.

“Books, films, plays, and television shows often portray real people. Some are famous and some are just ordinary folks. Whether a person portrayed in one of these expressive works is a world-renowned film star — ‘a living legend’ — or a person no one knows, she or

Ryan Murphy Talks New Show With Ricky Martin, and Why He Can’t Care Too Much What Donatella Thinks

What is known about whether Andrew was physically or sexually abused by his father? The show strongly infers it, but doesn’t actually go there.
It’s hard because it’s hard to substantiate that. We had people discussing his childhood, who claimed in Maureen Orth’s book that, look, any boy that’s given the master bedroom…you have have to question what those motivations are about. But obviously, we had a point of view, and Maureen Orth had a point of view, and eye witnesses and people who knew Andrew. But everybody was a victim in it. It’s such a dark, American story about identity and the quest for fame and all of that stuff, which are issues that I’ve always been interested in.

Have you heard anything from the Versace family in recent weeks? Do you know if their stance on the authenticity of the series has softened at all after seeing it? Is ‘American Horror Story’ Leaving FX Along With Ryan Murphy?

Where to Stream:

American Horror Story

  • Netflix

  • Hulu
  • More Options

Just like how there’s never been a TV creator quite like Ryan Murphy, there’s never been a show quite like American Horror Story. The horror anthology series has been loved and praised for years because of its unrelenting dedication to camp, but at the same time it can hold its own in conversations about prestige television. Like AHS‘ own complicated and misunderstood characters, it’s impossible to completely peg down the ever-changing series. But this year American Horror Story‘s creator is facing a major change of his own. Ryan Murphy is heading to Netflix.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Murphy would be leaving his television homes of FX and Fox to join Netflix’s team. It’s an
