Earth Day Cleanup Volunteers Find Remains of Indiana Mom Missing Since December

Human remains found during an Earth Day cleanup Saturday belong to a 32-year-old Indiana mother who went missing in December, PEOPLE has learned.

Jaime Beasley’s family had been searching for her since she vanished on Dec. 15, 2017 after sending a text to a friend at about 10:45 p.m., according to a Facebook post by her family.

On Saturday, a group of volunteers who cleaning up their Indianapolis neighborhood for Earth Day — which officially falls on Sunday — made a grisly discovery when they found human remains along a creek, local station CBS 4 reports.

The partially covered remains were discovered on the city’s east side around 11 a.m., the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department told local station FOX59.

On Monday afternoon, the Marion County Coroner’s Office in Indianapolis confirmed to PEOPLE that the remains were Beasley’s.

Police who arrived at the scene on Saturday said they

A teen helped police find his missing friend’s body. Detectives now suspect he’s the killer.

When 17-year-old Jeremy Sanchez’s parents learned from administrators at a Southern California high school Wednesday that their son hadn’t shown up to class, they turned to one of his friends for help.

It was that friend who, after searching for Sanchez along the San Gabriel River Trail, found his body facedown in the bushes by the water, pierced with stab wounds.

And it was that friend — a 16-year-old boy — who sheriff’s officers say killed Sanchez.

“This is somebody who obviously planned this, who tried to plan it well,” said Lt. John Corina of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. “And who then tried to throw everybody off.”

Officers on Thursday arrested the 16-year-old, whose name has not been released because he is a minor. He was booked at Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall in Downey, Calif.

Family-of-8’s Missing Child Found in the Water Weeks After Their SUV Plunged Off Calif. Cliff

A body found last week near where a Washington family plummeted off a cliff in Northern California has been identified as one of the family’s three missing children, PEOPLE confirms.

The Mendocino County Coroner Division announced on Tuesday that through DNA analysis the remains of 12-year-old Ciera Hart were positively identified, according to a news release obtained by PEOPLE.

Authorities also confirmed that the girl’s name was Ciera — not “Siera,” as previously reported — and that she was 12 years old at the time of the crash, not 15, as they had said.

Parents Jennifer and Sarah Hart and their six kids are presumed dead after their car plunged 100 feet down to the water off the Pacific Coast Highway sometime in late March. Their SUV was found on March 26.

Shortly after discovering the wreck, five members of the family were found dead at the bottom of the cliff, including Jennifer and

Speaking to Oxygen’s “In Ice Cold Blood,” Giddings’ sister, Kaitlyn Wheeler, said: “She really didn’t bloom until college. She was loud and fun. She wasn’t as much like that in high school.”

Wheeler also recounted the last time she communicated with her sister. “The last time I specifically remember talking to Lauren was through text message on June 24, which was a Friday. I was driving home from my honeymoon,” Wheeler said. “It took me a few days to realize that she hadn’t responded.”

Other family members and friends began to notice they hadn’t heard from Lauren, and Wheeler asked a friend of Lauren’s to check her apartment

Body Found in Shallow Grave Believed to Be the Remains of Missing Actress Adea Shabani

Police unearthed human remains that they believe are those of missing Hollywood actress Adea Shabani.

On Tuesday morning, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office and their coroner’s division discovered the remains of a woman in a shallow grave in the Spenceville Wildlife Area in Penn Valley, California, according to a Facebook post by the sheriff’s office.

During a press conference on Tuesday, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told reporters, “At this point in time, we believe that those remains are the body of Miss. Adea Shabani.”

“We cannot say that conclusively at this point in time because the condition of the remains prohibited positive identification,” he continued, adding that they believed Christopher Spotz, a man authorities identified as Shabani’s boyfriend, was “somehow involved in her death.”

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
