‘Pose’: Watch the Trailer for Ryan Murphy’s History-Making FX Drama

FX on Thursday unveiled the first full-length trailer and premiere date for Ryan Murphy’s history-making drama Pose.

Pose looks at the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in 1980s New York: the rise of the luxury Trump-era universe, the downtown social and literary scene and the ball culture world. The series will premiere Sunday, June 3 at 9 p.m.

Toplined by frequent Murphy collaborator Evan Peters, Kate Mara and James Van Der Beek, Pose features the biggest cast of transgender actors in series-regular roles as well as the largest recurring LGBTQ cast ever for a scripted U.S. TV series. The five trans actors are MJ Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Hailie Sahar and Angelica Ross, with each one playing authentic transgender characters.

“The show is about the search for being authentic, about creating opportunities,” Murphy told reporters in January. “We’re past an era of straight men playing these roles. It’s time to think differently and offer

FX Orders ‘Y’ Drama Pilot Based On ‘Y: The Last Man’ Comic Book Series

FX has given a pilot green light to its long-gestating drama Y, based on the acclaimed post-apocalyptic science fiction DC comic book series Y: The Last Man. The project, from Michael Green (American Gods, Blade Runner 2049), Brian K. Vaughan, Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson of Color Force (American Crime Story, Pose), had been in the works at FX for several years. Green, who penned the adaptation, will serve as co-showrunner alongside Aida Mashaka Croal (Luke Cage, Turn). Melina Matsoukas (Insecure) will direct the pilot, which is from FX Productions.

In Y, all of the men are dead. But one. Based on the DC comic book series by Vaughan and Pia Guerra, Y traverses a world of women — exploring gender, race, class and survival.

The project, whose theme is pretty timely, had been on slow-track development

Bill Clinton Impeachment Drama Series Scrapped at History

Ryan Murphy isn’t the only one scrapping scripted projects about Monica Lewinsky.

Hours after The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported that the prolific showrunner had scrapped plans for a Lewinsky-themed season of FX anthology American Crime Story, History has done the same with its Bill Clinton impeachment drama.

Picked up straight to series in September, The Breach: Inside the Impeachment of Bill Clinton was set to be a six-part scripted series from Emmy winner R.J. Cutler (Nashville). The project was poised to be based on Peter Baker’s New York Times best-seller The Breach: Inside the Impeachment and Trial of William Jefferson Clinton. Described as a political thriller, the series was to offer a detailed account of how the Lewinsky scandal unfolded, taking viewers inside the war rooms on both sides of the political aisle, the clashes among the president’s advisers, the secret negotiations between the White House and Congress and the pressure

American Crime Story: Versace Finale: Did the FX Drama Go Out With a Bang?

Wednesday’s finale of American Crime Story: Versace brought to an end the horrific escapades of Andrew Cunanan and checked back in with the people whose lives were forever changed by his twisted actions.

The episode picked up exactly where the season premiere began, with a sunkissed Andrew strolling down the streets of Miami Beach, gun in hand, waiting for the perfect shot at Gianni Versace. And we all know how that went.

Judith Light’s Marilyn Miglin was the first familiar face to reappear; the FBI showed up at her Miami hotel room to inform her that it was no longer safe for her to be in Florida, offering to help transport her to safety. She declined, demanding that they escort her to her scheduled home-shopping broadcast, but not before dressing down the bumbling agents who failed to capture Andrew:

How many more are going to die? How much more

Wolverine: The Long Night Is the X-Men Crime Drama Podcast I Never Knew I Wanted

The logo for Wolverine: The Long Night.

Marvel has ventured into the podcastiverse with Wolverine: The Long Night, an SVU-style crime drama complete with cults, a serial killer, and Easter eggs for X-Men fans. It’s clearly for a specific audience that enjoys comic book stories, podcasts, and true crime. Luckily, I sit at the center of that Venn Diagram, so needless to say, I’m into it.

The first 10-episode season of Wolverine: The Long Night debuts today on Stitcher, written by Ben Percy (The Wilding, Red Moon) and directed by Brendan Baker. As of writing this, I’ve listened to three episodes, and things are off on a promising (albeit imperfect) note. The podcast follows federal agents Tad Marshall (At Essandoh) and Sally Pierce (Celia Keenan-Bolger) as they investigate a

‘Murder’: Leonard Roberts & Andrea Demetriades Cast In CBS Drama Pilot

Leonard Roberts (Major Crimes) and Australian actress Andrea Demetriades (Pulse) have been cast as series regulars opposite Michael Chiklis and Teyonah Parris in CBS drama pilot Murder, from Lin Pictures and Warner Bros. TV.

Written by Amanda Green based on the British miniseries and directed by Anthony Hemingway, this new take on the investigative drama explores crime through the unique and often-conflicting perspectives of cops and killers, witnesses and victims, friends and family. Shot like a true-crime documentary, the series, which centers on Detectives Mason Garrity (Chiklis) and Ayana Lake (Parris), invites the audience inside the emotional journey of an investigation, allowing them to discern the truth and judge the suspects’ guilt or innocence for themselves. Cast also includes Luna Lauren Velez and Pallavi Sharda.

Roberts will play Assistant District Attorney Malachi Sandel, a talented, charismatic homicide prosecutor whose persuasive skills and charm extend from
