When George Contos vanished more than three years ago, he was preparing to make a trip north to visit friends and relatives.
Contos, a southern Connecticut native who moved to Flagler County in 2005, disappeared “under suspicious circumstances” in May 2015. Family and friends have not seen or heard from him since.
Now they are hoping a nationally televised true-crime TV show may help shed new light on the mystery. The case will be the focus of an episode of “Cold Justice,” scheduled to air at 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday on the Oxygen cable channel.
Aaron Thayer, Contos’ son, said during a telephone interview Thursday that he hopes the show will trigger someone to come forward with clues that might give his family answers to ease their anguish.
