Man Sentenced for Killing Serena and Venus Williams’ Sister Was Released This Year — Then Apparently Re-Arrested

The man whom authorities said fatally shot Serena and Venus Williams‘ older sister Yetunde Price in 2003 was released from prison earlier this year, after more than a decade behind bars, PEOPLE confirms.

However, it appears Robert Edwards Maxfield was re-arrested on Friday night in Compton, California, and remains in custody after allegedly violating his parole, according to Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials and jail records.

The nature of the alleged violation was unclear Tuesday night.

A spokesman with the state’s Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, who confirmed the release of the Maxfield in Price’s case, could not immediately say if it was the same Maxfield who was arrested in Compton.

The men in both cases share identical biographical information though, including age, name and race. Price was also killed in Compton.

Speaking generically, DOC spokesman Luis Patiño tells PEOPLE that someone who violates their parole

Man Kills Son, 6, Wife and Ex in Murder-Suicide: ‘I Had a Perfect Life, and Now It’s All Screwed Up’

On Monday night, a 39-year-old New York City man committed suicide shortly after fatally shooting his wife, ex-wife and 6-year-old son, and NYPD sources confirm to PEOPLE a bitter custody battle may have been behind the violence.

At about 9 p.m., police were summoned to the Astoria, Queens, apartment of James Shields after neighbors heard several gunshots.

Inside the apartment, police found Shields dead from a pair of self-inflicted injuries: NYPD sources say he cut his own throat and shot himself.

Deeper into the apartment, they found the bodies of his wife, 38-year-old Saskia Shields, his ex-wife, 47-year-old Linda Olthof, and their son, James Jr.

Soldier’s Wife Misses Daily Call with Overseas Husband — Then Police Find Her Body at Home

Weeks after a soldier’s wife was found dead in her home on a Georgia military base, the slaying remains unsolved — as federal authorities are now offering $20,000 for information leading to her killer’s arrest and conviction.

Abree Boykin’s body was found late on July 10 at her residence at Fort Stewart during a military police welfare check first reported by her family, according to the Army Times.

Her husband, who was serving overseas, in South Korea, had grown concerned when she missed their daily call early that morning and then contacted her relatives, local TV station WSAV reports.

Investigators believe Boykin, 24, may have known her assailant. They have described her slaying as an “isolated incident” and said that community “residents should have no heightened concerns about their safety or security.”

It’s unclear how Boykin died. The reward in her case was announced on Monday by the Army

Best stand-up comedy on Netflix – stand-up specials on Netflix, ranked

Sample joke: “How do you have fun? How do you guys do it? Like I don’t think I would have come to this show.”

Even if you’ve never seen a stand-up set by Marc Maron or listened to his award-winning podcast WTF (he was the guy who got an Obama interview), you could get a good sense of what to expect from his turn in Netflix hit GLOW. The real-life Maron is just as self-deprecating and sharply witty as Sam Sylvia, with Too Real seeing him reflect on getting older and contemplating death. Sounds depressing, but couldn’t be further from it.

7. Mike Birbiglia: My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend

Sample joke: “I like to dress down to perpetuate the myth that I might be a fixer-upper.”

Missing Virginia Mom-of-4 Was Allegedly Choked to Death by Ex, Then Stuffed in Plastic Bag

The search continues in Virginia for the remains of a missing mother-of-four, who authorities allege was murdered by her ex-boyfriend, who has allegedly confessed to the crime.

Court records obtained by PEOPLE confirm that Lamont Johnson, 41, stands accused of killing the mother of his two children, Bellamy Gamboa.

Johnson allegedly told police he shoved Gamboa, who then fell down some stairs, according to the court documents. He then allegedly strangled her to death.

Gamboa was last seen alive the evening of July 1 at the home she shared with her alleged killer.

While their romantic relationship had ended, the two still lived together, taking care of their infant twins, according to the documents.

Gamboa was reported missing July 2, after she failed to show up for work.

Two days later, police found her car near Lake Edward, the court documents state.

A man killed an alleged intruder. Then police showed up and killed him.

The flurry of 911 calls went out to the Aurora Police Department early Monday, advising authorities there was something wrong on a tree-lined street in the Colorado city.

One call was very specific and dire: A woman said an intruder was breaking into her home in the middle of the night.

Officers arrived on scene and heard muffled gunshots from inside the home, sparking bedlam in the east Denver suburb.

Police encountered a man with a gun. The officer shot him, authorities later said in a statement.

Officers then fanned out inside the house searching room to room for any other possible suspects or victims. They discovered a man sprawled on a bathroom floor, shot dead.

At some point, the officers came to a grim realization.

The man in the bathroom was the alleged intruder, who was killed by the man police had just fatally shot in what Police Chief Nick Metz called a “very chaotic and

Jake Abel (Percy Jackson The Olympians) and David Barrera (Bosch) are set for recurring roles opposite Connie Britton and Eric Bana on Bravo’s true crime anthology series Dirty John, from Universal Cable Productions, Los Angeles Times Studios and Atlas Entertainment.

Written by Chance co-creator Alexandra Cunningham, Dirty John is based on the articles and breakout true-crime podcast from Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard. It centers on John Meehan (Bana), a handsome and romantic charmer who sweeps Debra Newell (Britton) off her feet and pulls her into his web of lies. The series chronicles the true story of how a romance with Meehan spiraled into secrets, denial and manipulation.

Abel will play Trey, Debra’s oldest child and only son. Barrera will portray Palmer, a successful builder and colleague of Debra’s who has a good sense of humor.
