After 12 years of true-crime bullshit and an official twitter account so demented as to be indistinguishable from parody, Nancy Grace is out at CNN sister network HLN.
A network spokesperson tells The Hollywood Reporter that a new series — one that will “utilize the expertise of the current team” — will replace Nancy Grace in the 8 p.m. slot following the airing of the final episode on Oct. 13. The decision was a difficult one, according to Grace, who in an emotional interview with THR admits to being “really mixed” about taking a step she’s been “thinking a lot about” for the past three years.

UPDATED: Prosecutor-turned-pundit Nancy Grace, who has weighed in on some of the country’s most controversial legal cases, is leaving her primetime gig at HLN when her contract ends in October, Deadline has confirmed.
Grace informed her staff this morning via a video conference call. “This fall, I’ll be leaving HLN, my longtime TV home, with a full heart and endless gratitude,” Grace said in a statement. “The network has been my extended family for nearly a dozen years, and I am proud of the amazing work we’ve produced together.” She went on to say, “We created an unparalleled platform that gave crime victims a voice and succeeded in helping to find missing people and spotlight unsolved homicides. I will continue my fight for justice across a variety of traditional and new media, where victims’ voices can reach an entirely engaged audience.”

Toronto-based Buck Productions has struck a deal with U.S. cable net Reelz to coproduce four 10-part series its 2017/2018 lineup.
The deal was secured by Lou Occhicone, factual television consultant for the prodco and Jim Kiriakakis, Buck’s head of television and development.
“We are excited to work with Reelz on these four exciting series,” said Sean Buckley, CEO, Buck Productions, in a statement. “As Buck’s unscripted catalog continues to grow, this deal will help to further diversify our offerings.”
The four 10 x 60-minute series will encompass stories of Hollywood divorces, stalkers, fortunes and other celeb-oriented fare.
“We look forward to working with Buck Productions to utilize their proven storytelling skills to bring our viewers fresh and insightful stories about celebrities and Hollywood,” added Steve Cheskin, SVP of programming for Reelz.
